Chairperson’s Message

I am honored to have taken on the role of PJ Chairperson.

I first discovered pickleball in 2022, while walking my dog at the Diamond Head tennis courts in Honolulu. I was hooked from that moment on, and founded the Japan-Hawaii Pickleball Association to build a bridge between the two places I love.

From there, I went on to establish Pickleball Japan (PJ), with the aim of bringing the sport’s global momentum to Japan and opening up even greater possibilities.

This year, we achieved something many players in Japan had long hoped for: a merger with the Japan Pickleball Association. Together, we’re now starting a new chapter as the newly unified PJ. Building on the trust we share, I look forward to working alongside all of you to shape a new era for pickleball in Japan.

Pickleball is a truly unique and sustainable sport, one where “competitiveness” and the “social connection” that comes from community and staying active grow together in balance. Through this sport, I want to support the young players who will shape its future, and offer people in their senior years a healthy lifestyle that keeps them closely connected to their communities.

I feel genuinely fortunate to have so many challenges and dreams ahead of me, and I’m committed to giving my full effort to this responsibility. I look forward to walking toward new dreams together with all of you.
