[PJ-Hosted Tournament / Numazu, Shizuoka] Apology and Report on the Situation at the Opening of Entries: PJ Numazu Open 2026

Thank you for your continued support of Pickleball Japan.

Immediately after entries opened at 19:00 JST on Monday, October 5, 2026, the DUPR connection on the entry site for the PJ Numazu Open 2026 (Tournated) was temporarily unable to work properly.
We sincerely apologize to everyone who had prepared in advance for the opening of entries for the inconvenience and concern this has caused.

[What happened]
Shortly after entries opened, some players saw messages such as the following and were unable to complete their registration:
– “Your DUPR id is not valid,” even though a correct DUPR ID was registered
– “No categories available,” even though spots were still open
– The registration process stopped just before the payment step

[Cause]
During registration, Tournated checks each player’s DUPR rating with DUPR to confirm that the player meets the eligibility requirements for each category.
Shortly after entries opened, we checked the status of these requests and found that DUPR was intermittently returning a response called “Error 429.”

“Error 429” means that the receiving side (in this case, DUPR) is temporarily limiting requests because too many have arrived in a short period of time.
It does not mean that there is a problem with the DUPR ID itself.

While this error was occurring, DUPR ratings could not be confirmed even for correct DUPR IDs.
We believe this is why players who actually met the eligibility requirements saw messages such as “not valid” or “No categories available.”

We have reported this matter to the operator of the entry site and asked them to look into the cause in detail.
We will post an update on this page as soon as we receive their findings.

[To those who were unable to register]
We are truly sorry to those who were unable to register because of this situation.
However, due to the limited number of courts and the limited tournament schedule, and because other players have already completed their registration, we regret to inform you that we are unable to accept additional entries at this time.
We sincerely apologize for not being able to meet your expectations after all your preparation, and we kindly ask for your understanding.

[To those registering from now on]
Even if you see the message “not valid,” your DUPR ID may not actually be incorrect.
Please do not change your ID. Wait a little while and then try again.

Once again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.
We will work with the entry site operator to prevent this from happening again.
