ABOUT PJ

Vision & Mission

The mission, vision, and values of Pickleball Japan (PJ), and our outlook for the future.

MISSION

We connect people through pickleball, contributing to a sporting culture that nurtures rich communities and healthy lives.

We share the sport’s accessibility and its appeal across generations and backgrounds, building an environment where anyone can take part with ease.

We also work to balance pickleball’s value as a lifelong sport with its competitive side, developing the foundations of competition and nurturing players, to lead a new sporting culture that enriches people and society.

VISION

We aim to build a society where pickleball creates connections across generations and backgrounds, and where communities grow in every region of Japan.

We also aim to develop players who go on to compete on the world stage from Japan, growing pickleball into a new sporting culture that connects people and nations.

VALUES

Inclusiveness

We’re growing an open sporting environment where anyone can play with ease, regardless of age, gender, experience, or background.

Connection

Through pickleball, people connect naturally with one another, nurturing communities with no barriers.

Fun & Well-being

As a lifelong sport built on fun and health, we contribute to the well-being of society.

Fair Play

We run our competitions fairly and transparently, cultivating a sporting culture built on mutual respect and goodwill.

Excellence

We advance tournament operations and player development to international standards, building a competitive foundation that connects with the world.

Looking Ahead

Pickleball in Japan is entering a new stage. Going forward, we will pursue sustainable growth by advancing the following priorities.

Building PJ as Japan’s national governing body
Strengthening ties with international federations
Expanding national tournaments and the player base
Building player development programs and growing the sport regionally

We aim to unite pickleball in Japan and build a competitive foundation connected to the world, while developing players and competition environments with an eye toward future international competitions and the Olympics.

Tournaments and certification programs planned for the 2026 fiscal year will continue to be run steadily, in line with our current plans.
